La Liga giants Real Madrid have been joined in the hunt for Las Palmas talent Dário Essugo by one of the leading clubs in the Premier League.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing sources in Spain and England alike, who have confirmed this weekend that the race for the youngster is beginning to heat up.
Essugo, for those not familiar with his name, is a 19-year-old midfielder, who is currently plying his trade with the aforementioned Las Palmas.
The Portuguese made the move to Gran Canaria on a season-loan long deal from Sporting CP over the summer.
And his impressive performances in the months since have already begun to pique the attentions of some of Europe’s top clubs.
As per MD, in La Liga, Real Madrid are considering a move for Essugo with a view to next season, with arch rivals Barcelona keeping a close eye on the situation, too.
Not only that, but big-spending Premier League giants Chelsea are keen, too, ahead of what could prove to be a hotly-contested battle for the midfield talent in the summer of 2025.
