Supporters of La Liga giants Real Madrid have on Saturday made known their bemusement with the penalty taker pecking order in their side’s squad.

This comes owing to developments in Real’s latest outing.

Los Blancos are of course currently locked in action, in a La Liga meeting with relegation-battling Valencia.

Inside the opening quarter of an hour in what is a crucial fixture amid the hosts’ pursuit of table-topping Barcelona, Real Madrid were afforded a golden opportunity to take the lead.

As much came after Kylian Mbappé won a spot-kick for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

After dusting himself down, Real Madrid’s top scorer was widely expected to take responsibility from 12 yards, amid a blistering recent run of form in front of goal.

In turn, it came as a major surprise when, instead, it was attacking partner in crime Vinícius Jr. who stepped up.

The Brazilian’s weak ensuing effort was easily kept out by Giorgi Mamardashvili, though, opening the door for Valencia to take the lead just minutes later.

And safe to say, as much has since not gone down at all well amongst the Blancos faithful.
