Raul Asencio has been one of the biggest positives of the season so far for Real Madrid. The 22-year-old La Fabrica has burst onto the first-team scenes and cemented his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s roster with solid performances in defence.
Given his form, Asencio also broke into the Spanish national team squad earlier this month, although he did not get a chance to make his debut.
Considering his meteoric rise in the past few months, Real Madrid have moved quickly to activate a first-team contract extension for the 22-year-old, ensuring his continuity until 2029 while also removing his €50 million release clause.
Not stopping at that, Los Blancos intend to further offer Asencio a fresh, longer deal altogether in the summer, which would keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2031.

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid ‘fully expect’ Asencio to sign that new longer-term contract in the coming months, committing himself to the Spanish capital club until 2031.
The 22-year-old Spaniard has had approaches from as many as three top European clubs, who were willing to pay his release clause.
While Romano does not mention the name of the three clubs who have approached the La Fabrica talent, PSG are believed to be one of those teams, with the Parisians reportedly trying to sign him in January.
But all of that has not tempted Asencio whatsoever, with the centre-back making it clear to his agent as well as Real Madrid that he intends to stay put at the club.
As such, the Merengues are confident that they will be able to reach an agreement with the youngster over a new longer deal, which will potentially run until 2031, in the next few months.
