A trio of first-team players at La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week been slapped with significant financial fines on the part of UEFA.

This comes owing to their respective actions in the aftermath of Real Madrid’s recent Champions League victory over city rivals Atlético Madrid.

After sending Diego Simeone’s side packing from Europe, a number of Blancos stars took their place in front of the crowd at the Metropolitano, to passionately celebrate and taunt the home fans.

UEFA, in turn, opened a case on the matter.

This culminated in all of Antonio Rüdiger, Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Jr. and Dani Ceballos being singled out for further investigation.

And as alluded to above, whilst all four managed to escape a ban, three have instead been slapped with financial sanctions.

As per Marca, Rüdiger has been ordered to fork over €40,000, Mbappé €30,000, and Ceballos €20,000.

Vinícius, on the other hand, has emerged with little more than a warning.
