Real Madrid returned to training today after their last-gasp 2-1 win over Valencia last night at Mestalla, which sent them to the top spot in La Liga.
There is no time to relax for Los Blancos as they are again in action on Monday night, when they take on RFEF Segunda Division side Deportiva Minera in the Copa del Rey Round of 32.
As such, preparations got underway today at the Valdebebas training facilities with players doing physical and tactical work.
But, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid youngster Arda Guler was not part of the group training sessions today.
Indeed, the 19-year-old attacking midfield prodigy trained inside the gym facilities as he was down with flu-like symptoms.

This illness prohibited the Turkish international from working with the rest of the team, who trained under fitness coach Antonio Pintus before carrying out possession exercises and tactical work, with the session winding up with some practice mini-games.
Considering that Guler did work indoors and did not skip training completely, the illness does not appear to be serious enough for him to be ruled out of Monday’s trip to Cartagena.
Real Madrid could potentially be without their talismanic attacker Vinicius Jr. for the Copa del Rey clash following his red card against Valencia last night, which could earn him a ban of two to four games.
However, there is a chance that the Brazilian may feature against Deportiva Minera as the Competitions Committee meeting to decide on his sanction is unlikely to take place until Tuesday.
As for Guler, his condition will likely be assessed tomorrow before taking a call on his availability. Considering the likelihood of rotation, the 19-year-old could be in line to start if he is fully fit.
