La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have this week been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation of an injury suffered by Beñat Turrientes.
Midfielder Turrientes, fresh off penning a new long-term contract in San Sebastian, was afforded his latest starting berth this past weekend.
En route to Sociedad’s 2-1 La Liga downing of Real Betis, the 22-year-old was made use of from the off in the middle of the park by boss Imanol.
Just ten minutes into the 2nd-half, though, Turrientes was hooked from proceedings, replaced by Pablo Marín.
And as much, it has since been confirmed, came owing to a calf problem on the part of the young midfielder.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Imanol admitted:
“He warned me (of the issue) at half-time against Betis, but we thought it would be nothing…”
Turrientes has as a result not been called up to Real Sociedad’s 24-man travelling squad to face Conquense in the Copa del Rey on Thursday night.
