Stade Rennai travel to RC Lens this Sunday for what promises to be a game to watch between two free-flowing sides. Bruno Genesio’s side impressed last week, humbling promoted Ligue 1 outfit FC Metz 5-1. The Artois side are set to be a whole different beast to tame altogether. Lens’ domestic record at home was one of the best in Europe last season.
Genesio is poised to stick with his 4-3-3 formation against Les Sang et Or and to keep the majority of the players who shattered Metz. Ouest-France understands that Ludovic Blas – one of Rennes’ marquee signings this summer – is in line to make his first competitive start at the expense of Manchester City target Jérémy Doku. Blas was suspended last week. According to the outlet, Nemanja Matić will start on the bench with Baptiste Santamaria getting the nod to start as Rennes’ holding midfielder. Sought-after Belgium international centre-back Arthur Theate is also set to retain his place.
