Rennes host Ligue 1 leaders PSG this Saturday at Roazhon Park at 5:00 pm CET. Les Parisiens are expected to field a rotated squad as they boast a comfortable 13-point lead at the top of the Ligue 1 standings. Furthermore, PSG also need to rest key players before Tuesday’s Champions League RO16 return leg at Anfield, with the French champions tasked to overturn a one-goal deficit.
But before taking on Liverpool at Anfield, PSG will take a detour to Brittany to face Habib Beye’s resurgent Rouge et Noir. Since his appointment in the Roazhon Park dugout, the former Newcastle United full-back has won four of the Ligue 1 games he has overseen. Once billed as fighting for their spot in Ligue 1, Rennes now look clear of any danger in 11th place.
For today’s game against PSG, Rennes’ midfielder sensation Djaoui Cissé will miss out through suspension. In his absence, Wales international Jordan James and Marseille loanee Ismaël Koné are poised to start alongside Seko Fofana. Ludovic Blas and Arnaud Kalimuendo are expected to lead the line.
