Reports continue to spread rapidly that Milan are ‘on the verge’ of securing a deal with Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker.

The speculation has been swirling since Pep Guardiola announced this weekend that Walker had asked to leave in the January transfer window to finish off his career with an experience abroad.

It had been assumed this meant the Saudi Pro League, but Milan quickly emerged as the favourites to secure his signature.

Now The Telegraph newspaper claims that special advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been working personally behind the scenes to get Walker on a deal until June 2027.

It is reported that the talks are progressing quickly and an announcement could be imminent.

Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio said last night that Milan had approached the England international a few weeks ago when it seemed as if Fikayo Tomori would be going to Juventus.

However, his situation changed with the arrival of new coach Sergio Conceicao.

Considering Milan already have several right-backs in the squad, they could try to move on Davide Calabria, whose contract only runs to the end of the season.

Manchester City paid £45m (€52.7m) to purchase Walker, who is now 34, from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2017.

He made 18 competitive appearances so far this season, without contributing any goals or assists, and has 93 senior caps for England.
