Multiple reports are claiming that Giorgio Furlani will travel to Rome today, but he is not getting there early ahead of the Coppa Italia final.
According to Orazio Occomando of DAZN, MilanNews and La Gazzetta dello Sport among others, there will be a new summit between Igli Tare and Furlani today in Rome, after the one that took place before the Easter holidays.
It will be a second face to face discussion in the capital, which naturally makes one think that the talks between the two could go further into specifics, after the more than four-hour chat they had last week.
The parties studied each other in that meeting and spoke about various topics, from the areas of expertise to the decision-making processes and the collaborators with whom Tare could work if he were to be the chosen one.
It is not yet certain whether today’s meeting could be the decisive one or not. What is certain is that Tare also spoke with Furlani about those who could be considered suitable profiles to replace Sergio Conceiçao.
The names that have emerged most insistently are those of Massimiliano Allegri – who Calciomercato.com claim wants the job – and Vincenzo Italiano, who is having a super season at the helm of Bologna. The latter was considered by Tare to replace Simone Inzaghi.
Keep an eye on other profiles who could enter the race. One possible name is that of Gian Piero Gasperini, who could return to Milan’s radar after last year, when candidates were being evaluated to replace Stefano Pioli.
The fact that Furlani will see Tare again tomorrow does not exclude the profile of Tony D’Amico, currently under contract with Atalanta, who is another name that has remained on the list of names after the collapse of discussions with Fabio Paratici.
