Ritsu Doan to Freiburg a done deal | OneFootball

PSV attacking midfielder Ritsu Doan is set to join Freiburg and will take part in a medical exam on Monday, according to Voetbal International.

The Japanese international is under contract with PSV until 2024 but has been searching for a new club after not getting much first-team action since his €7.5m move from FC Groningen in 2019.

It’s reported that Doan will undergo his medical at Freiburg this week where he is expected to be unveiled as their latest signing.

The 24-year-old midfielder will cost Freiburg around €8.5m and brings not only international experience but Bundesliga knowledge as well.

During the 2020/21 season, Doan had a successful loan spell at Arminia Bielefeld where he attracted the action of several German clubs.

The attacking midfielder will finally get another chance in the Bundesliga this season with Freiburg as they look to balance both domestic and European football.
