Mats Hummels has decided to retire at the end of the season.
After returning to Roma’s line-up on March 30 against Lecce, these will be the last matches of Mats Hummels not only with Roma, but in his entire career. In fact, the defender announced his retirement with a video posted on Instagram stories, thanking Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Roma and Germany, the teams whose shirt he wore.

After the announcement, Roma publicly thanked the German defender, with several players paying tribute to him.
Lorenzo Pellegrini and Stephan El Shaarawy called him a legend, while Dybala commented ‘What a player.’
