Barcelona’s commanding 4-1 win over Girona highlighted the impressive mentality that Hansi Flick’s squad has cultivated.
Captain Ronald Araujo took a moment after the match to underline the team’s resilience and mental fortitude, qualities that have been instrumental in their recent success.
The Uruguayan defender acknowledged that despite facing difficult situations in numerous matches, Barcelona’s belief in their own ability remains unshaken.
“We have a young team, but with a very strong mentality, and that helps us all and gives us confidence. In the first half, we struggled a bit to find the goal, but the team was fully engaged,” he began saying.

Barcelona’s current squad is a mix of youthful energy and seasoned experience, and it is clear that Flick’s emphasis on mental strength has made a significant impact.
Araujo’s leadership continues to be a crucial factor as he consistently encourages his teammates to stay motivated and believe in their own capabilities, regardless of the circumstances they face on the pitch.
“I’m very happy with this victory because it keeps us at the top of the league and allows us to continue fighting for our goal, which is, of course, to win the league. I think we played well overall today.”
Meanwhile, Gerard Martin, who started in place of Alejandro Balde, also contributed effectively to Barcelona’s victory.
The left-back played with determination and showcased his attacking instincts by providing a well-timed assist for Ferran Torres, sealing the 4-1 scoreline.

Martin admitted that the first half was challenging, with Barcelona struggling to find their rhythm and create clear opportunities.
However, adjustments made during the second half paid off, allowing the team to assert their dominance and secure a well-deserved victory.
“They played a good game. We were so-so in the first half, struggling a bit to play clearly, but in the second half, we made a good change of approach, and it showed.
“We are in a good position. We know that everything that’s coming up is very important, and we can’t let the league title slip away,” he explained.
Barcelona’s strong position in the league standings is a testament to their resilience and consistency.
Flick’s tactical approach, combined with the squad’s mental strength, has enabled them to perform well even in high-pressure situations.
