Ruben Amorim has said Matthijs de Ligt is a doubt for the Manchester derby but Kobbie Mainoo is in line for a possible return.
The Manchester United head coach was speaking to the press ahead of Sunday's game at Old Trafford, and confirmed the Dutch defender is dealing with an issue suffered in the loss to Nottingham Forest.
"Matthijs has an issue, something during the [Forest game] and we have to assess," he said, with the possible injury coming from an awkward landing De Ligt had on his ankle, although he did play on.
As for Mainoo, the 19-year-old has not played for two months following a muscle injury sustained in February, but will be assessed closer to kick off.
"Kobbie is returning to training so we will see and assess him. Of course, he cannot start the game," Amorim said.
United will be looking to bounce back from their defeat at the City Ground and complete a rare league double in recent times over their cross-city rivals.
