AC Milan’s Primavera side signed off the calendar year with three important points, beating Sassuolo 4-2 away from home in an entertaining game.
Federico Guidi’s side had their UEFA Youth League campaign ended one week ago by losing 3-1 at home to Red Star, and they were unable to bounce back after their midweek defeat as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Juventus at the weekend.
Thus, the pressure was on to right the course of the ship against Sassuolo, and things started well when Filippo Scotti scored after less than three minutes. A ball over the top found the winger who touched it underneath the onrushing Scacchetti.
The home side equalised 20 minutes after that with Vedovati, but then Milan led again when a free-kick was cleared to Emanuele Sala who volleyed in first time with power.
Sassuolo hit back three minutes after that and it was another great goal from Vedovati, who cut back onto his left foot and fired right into the corner where Alessandro Longoni couldn’t get to it.
The Neroverdi didn’t have parity for long though as Siman put the Rossoneri ahead just before the interval. A ball from Victor Eletu found Alexandru Siman, who beat Barani and slotted home.

Scotti got the killer goal just over 20 minutes from time. A brilliant bit of composure saw him take a couple of touches to throw off the defence, then find the corner with a right-footed shot.
The result moves Guidi’s men back into fifth place and three points behind Sassuolo who are in second. Roma in top sport are five points away.
