Simone Inzaghi has four first-team injury concerns to contend with for Sunday’s Serie A match away against Venezia, as Yann Bisseck, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu and leading goalscorer Marcus Thuram are all expected to be unavailable.
Calhanoglu and Thuram both picked up injuries during the Supercoppa Italiana mini-tournament in Saudi Arabia last week, while Mkhitaryan reported adductor issue in training on Friday.
Matteo Darmian is expected to come in to replace the unavailable Bisseck in the back three, while Inzaghi looks set to test a previously unused midfield combination of Nicolo Barella, Kristjan Asllani and Piotr Zielinski.

Mehdi Taremi is in line to partner captain Lautaro Martinez in attack. Thuram, however, could feature from the bench if he is fit enough.
Sky Sport Italia suggest that there could also be a change for the Nerazzurri at wing-back, as Carlos Augusto could come into the team to give a rest to Federico Dimarco.
Kick-off is due at 14.00 GMT.
Venezia (3-5-2): Stankovic; Idzes, Sverko, Altare; Zampano, Busio, Nicolussi Caviglia, Ellertsson, Carboni; Oristanio, Pohjanpalo
