La Liga giants Barcelona have on Thursday been afforded a boost on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Iñigo Martínez has taken a significant step towards a return to competitive action.
Defender Iñigo has for his part been on the sidelines for the last two weeks.
This comes owing to a hamstring injury suffered during a training session at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
A combination of Ronald Araújo and Eric García have since filled in in Hansi Flick’s backline, but, in truth, Iñigo’s excellence has been missed.
All of a Barcelona persuasion will in turn no doubt be delighted to hear that, this morning, the former Athletic Club standout moved one step closer to a return to the pitch.
As confirmed by journalist Victor Navarro, Iñigo was given the green light to link back up with his teammates for partial training on Thursday.
Whilst Sunday’s La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés will likely come too soon, the veteran stopper could in turn be available to face Valencia in the Copa del Rey next week.
