Matias Soulé was finally given the chance to start under Claudio Ranieri’s guidance.
The Argentine attacker featured in Roma’s line-up in tonight’s key match against Napoli.
After the match, Soulé reflected on his decision to stay at Roma despite offers came his way in January.
“Yes, I will stay,” he told DAZN. “I haven’t played much so far by choice of the coach and I accepted it.”
“I’ve always trained to be ready. I feel exhausted, it’s been a long time since I played so many minutes.”
“I feel the coach’s confidence, I’m happy to have more and more minutes.”
“Right now I have cramps in both calves, I didn’t have much minutes in my legs but little by little I’ll be more and more ready.”
“I learn a lot from everyone, especially Dybala. He plays more inside the pitch and moves freely, I play more on the wing. I try to steal with my eyes, like I did with Di Maria. They are champions, I try to learn off the pitch too.”
“I am very happy to stay. I have already spoken to the coach, he told me that I will stay here. There were some offers, but it was decided that I will stay here. It is also what I want, I would never want to leave.”
