The Irish Independent reports that Southampton goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu has returned from his ten month injury. Bazunu featured for the Saints U21 team yesterday and could fill Aaron Ramsdale's potential void in the future.

Recently, The Sun reported that Aaron Ramsdale is attracting transfer interest from Newcastle United. The interest in Ramsdale is hardly surprising despite only arriving at Southampton six months ago.

In an otherwise poor season, Ramsdale has arguably been the best Southampton player. Understandably, the England international would be willing to join a bigger project than just escaping relegation at Southampton.

Thus, if Newcastle United or any top Premier League club tables a decent offer for Ramsdale, Southampton would have to accept. In that case, the Saints would be left with a considerable void in their starting lineup.

Certainly, this would mean much for the club but Southampton might have a solution already present.

According to a recent report from the Irish Independent, young keeper Gavin Bazunu has finally returned after his ten month achilles injury. Today, Bazunu even made the Southampton U21 side for the Fulham match and played the full 90 minutes.

Upon his return, Bazunu looked sharp and comfortable in goal, registering a clean sheet in the club's 5-0 win. Given the composure the Irish prodigy displayed after a long absence, he has instilled promise in succeeding at the keeping role in the future.

Not to forget, Bazunu had been a part of Manchester City's famed academy previously. On top of that, he was even competing with Alex McCarthy for the starting spot at Southampton before his injury.

Still, replacing Ramsdale remains a big task though. The former was the number one for Arsenal and England, establishing him as the preferred keeping choice at Southampton in the first place.

While Bazunu works on getting fit for the Premier League, he can get some experience from Ramsdale while he is still at the club. Would he be able to replace Ramsdale, only time will tell.
