Southampton FC player ratings after a 3-1 Premier League defeat against Manchester United.
Different game, still the same story for Southampton. A good performance for a large chunk of the match followed by another crushing defeat.
Southampton went 1-0 up in the first half due to Manuel Ugarte's own goal. Later, a sensational Amad Diallo hat-trick saw the Saints succumb to another Premier League loss.
Thus, let's see how every Southampton player performed in Thursday's 3-1 defeat.
Below, are Southampton's starting lineup players ranked on a scale of 1-10.
GK - Aaron Ramsdale: 4
This was a rare disappointing performance from Ramsdale. Diallo beat him twice at the near post and then Ramsdale seemed to give up on the third goal.
CB - Taylor Harwood-Bellis: 7
Did everything right in the defence except the giveaway on the final goal.
CB - Jan Bednarek: 6
Cleared away most Manchester United attacks in the first half. But Zirkzee and Amad found gaps in the Southampton defence leaving Bednarek helpless in the second half.
CB - James Bree: 7
Defended well against Garnacho and made a big clearance to deny Bruno Fernandes.
LWB - Kyle Walker-Peters: 4
Constantly struggled to defend Amad Diallo in the match. Dribbled past easily on the first goal and outpaced by Diallo on the second.
RWB - Yukinari Sugawara: 6
Provided good defensive support to James Bree on the right.
CM - Joe Aribo: 7
Dominated the midfield battle against Ugarte and Mainoo. Released Kamaldeen Sulemana through on goal but the latter couldn't score.
CM - Lesley Ugochukwu: 7
Worked in tandem with Aribo and made a lot of encouraging runs to find the attackers. Southampton should keep hold of Ugochukwu at least until May.
CAM - Mateus Fernandes: 6
Missed a big chance on Tyler Dibling's rebound. Mostly operated as a center forward with Sulemana and Dibling on either side of him.
ST - Kamaldeen Sulemana: 7
Could have easily scored a brace here. Troubled the whole Manchester United defence with his pace but the end product left a lot to be desired.
ST - Tyler Dibling: 8
