Southampton see opening offer for Lamine Camara rejected | OneFootball

According to a report from Foot Mercato, newly-promoted Premier League side Southampton have seen a €10m offer for FC Metz midfielder Lamine Camara (20) rejected.

Whilst Les Grenats made a swift return to Ligue 2 following the relegation play-off defeat to AS Saint-Étienne, there were bright sparks during their season. Georges Mikautadze was certainly one. His goal contribution almost kept Metz in the top flight. He now looks set to join AS Monaco in a deal worth up to €25m.

Metz are also looking to garner a considerable fee for Camara. The Senegalese international (10 caps, three goals) shone during his first season in Ligue 1, showing that he, like the likes of Sadio Mané previously, has the chance of establishing himself in Europe following his passage from Génération Foot, with whom Metz have a partnership.

Southampton have submitted an opening offer at €10m, which has been rejected, however, it is expected that they will return with an improved bid.
