Southampton's Lesley Ugochukwu has made some strange changes to his social media account. Fans take this as a hint that he will be on his way to Chelsea in January.
Southampton have a few players staying at St Marys Stadium on a loan basis. Some of them are performing better than others but there are a select few who fans haven't heard a peep out of since they joined.
One of them is Maxwel Cornet, who is currently on loan from West Ham United. Another is Lesley Ugochukwu, who is currently on loan from Chelsea.
Southampton were unable to field Lesley Ugochukwu in yesterday's Premier League fixture against Chelsea. This was due to rules preventing him from facing his parent club.
However, Lesley Ugochukwu has hinted that he is Chelsea through and through, with no mention of Southampton in his Instagram bio.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, this is a protest against his lack of game time since arriving at St Marys Stadium.
Ugochukwu has Chelsea in his bio but not Southampton. Also, earlier this week, the only photos on his Instagram feed were him playing for Chelsea, France, or personal photos outside of football.
It is worth noting that since this article was published by the Daily Mail, the Southampton photos have returned to Ugochukwu's feed.
Those old-fashioned Southampton fans among us will be thinking "so what?", however, in the current world we live in, this is a pretty big deal.
A player's social media account is not only their personal brand but a signal of their current career position. As it stands, there is no mention of Ugochukwu being at Southampton in his bio, despite currently being here on loan.
Therefore, it's pretty obvious that Ugochukwu will be on his way back to London in the January transfer window. This has not been confirmed by Southampton but using common sense, why would they keep him?
Russell Martin has not said a bad word about Ugochukwu. However, it is pretty clear from his lack of minutes that he is not part of the manager's plans. You could even say he was a panic signing...
