On Saturday, there were 10 games in the Championship, including action for Ashley Phillips and his Stoke City side against West Bromwich Albion, as well as Dane Scarlett and his Oxford United counterparts against Blackburn Rovers. Let's take a look at how they got on, individually and collectively.
To begin, Phillips was named in the starting XI for the third time in a row under new manager Mark Robins, for their short trip to play away to West Brom. Stoke would take the lead after just nine minutes of the game. They managed to hold onto the lead until the 71st minute, where the hosts would equalise.
That would be that for the game, with Stoke heading home with a 1-1 draw. Despite being ahead for just over an hour, that is still a pretty good point, against a side who have aspirations to make the play-offs. Spurs linked Josh Maja was not in the host's match day squad for this one.
This draw leaves the Potters in 18th place in the Championship, with 28 points from their 27 games so far.
Meanwhile, Scarlett was named amongst the substitutes for Oxford, in their game at home to Blackburn. A goal midway through the second half was enough for the U's to take all three points, and continue their unbeaten start to life in the Championship under Gary Rowett.
This win leaves Oxford in 15th place in the Championship, with 32 points from their 27 games. Seriously impressive effort from a newly promoted side, who certainly have a bottom four budget, and perhaps actually the lowest.
However, the young Spurs striker did not even come off the bench. The reason why has ramifications bigger than just this game in isolation too. Earlier this week, the club moved to bring in striker Tom Bradshaw from Millwall, someone who worked with Rowett at Millwall for three and a half years. We can all read between the lines here and see that Scarlett is now third choice striker for a side that play with one up front.
There was talk at the end of last month that the club could recall him from his loan, and the signing of Bradshaw only makes that more likely. Three frustrating loans for Scarlett now, it really has been a suboptimal start to life in senior football.
In any case, there is a whole slate of midweek action in the Championship. Oxford will be hosting Luton Town on Tuesday, whilst Stoke travel to Portsmouth on Wednesday. Both games kick off at 19:45 GMT.
