After announcing the arrival of Raúl Gudiño on Monday, Atlanta United have confirmed the signing of Tigres defender Juan José Purata on loan.
The 24-year-old joins for the rest of the 2022 season with an option to extend the loan for 2023 and a purchase option.

Sacramento Republic FC pulled off the upset of the season on Tuesday after defeating LA Galaxy 2-1 away from home.

CF Montréal defender Alistair Johnston discussed playing for revenge against rivals Toronto FC in the Canadian Championship.
“Everyone will be excited. This is the first match of this rivalry this season,” he said to La Presse. “We’ll be on the road, in Toronto. The crowd will be lively and hostile. We know the importance of this game.
“We are in a good position in the standings, adds the defender. We are in the semi-finals of the Canadian championship, with a good chance to get our hands on an additional trophy. That’s the plan.”
But this particular rivalry is amplified for the 23-year-old having been dismissed by TFC early on in his career along with some of his fellow team-mates.
“I was never a TFC fan growing up. This love never took shape because the academy always ignored me.
“On the [Canadian] national team, many players are from the greater Toronto area. But there are surprisingly very few who have gone through Toronto FC. We all have something to prove to them today.
“There is an additional motivation … We want to prove to them that they made a bad decision.”
Following initial reports, Columbus Crew officially unveiled former Watford attacker Cucho Hernandez as the club’s new record signing on Tuesday.
He will be with the MLS club until 2025.
