Having scored 20 goals last season in Ligue 1, Strasbourg striker Habib Diallo has inevitably attracted interest for a prospective summer move, with teams from France and across the Channel lining up to secure the Senegal international.
According to L’Équipe this afternoon, West Ham have made an offer worth €17m for the forward. The Alsatians – who are now owned by BlueCo, the Todd Boehly-led consortium that bought Chelsea in 2022 – have rejected the offer, and are expecting a significantly higher proposal to free Diallo of the final two years of his contract.
After breaking onto the scene in his Metz days – including a 26-goal season in Ligue 2 – the 28-year-old has been a key player for Strasbourg in the final three seasons. His goal haul this past campaign was crucial in helping the club steer clear of relegation after a disastrous start to the season, despite finishing in sixth place under Julien Stéphan the previous season.
