Hometown hero Alessio Romagnoli is living his dream flying high with Lazio, finally plying his trade for his boyhood club.
The 27-year-old Italian centre back has long been known to be a fan of the Roman club and a few years ago a photo surfaced showing a smiling Romagnoli wearing the famous Lazio eagle shirt, further enamouring him to the fans. The defender joined the club on a free transfer in the summer, signing a five-year contract after ending a seven-year spell with Milan.

As detailed by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Romagnoli and sporting director Igli Tare had been in contact for years whilst waiting for his contract with Milan to expire, and things began to heat up earlier this year.
In the summer, before things were made official in July, insistent phone calls arrived from Danilo Cataldi and Ciro Immobile, with both further trying to convince Romagnoli to join Lazio.
The Italian defender had a meeting with Patric in the Balearic Islands and he underwent private training sessions in Sardinia to be ready for Maurizio Sarri, and all of these efforts have paid off.
Romagnoli has immediately wooed the fans in the Italian capital, forming a solid defensive partnership with Patric and correctly applying Sarri’s tactical requests instantly.
