That was just Chelsea’s third defeat of the campaign and the Blues still sit third in the league and well on course to qualify for the Champions League.

Chris Sutton makes Ipswich vs Chelsea prediction

Enzo Maresca has said that he will make changes for the Ipswich game which means there’s a chance Noni Madueke could return to the side after being left out against Fulham because of his lack of effort in training.

It remains to be seen if Romeo Lavia will return, whilst Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Reece James are all still out.

Ipswich have struggled back in the Premier League and have won just two games all season, both away from home, although the Blues will have to be wary of Liam Delap, who Enzo Maresca heavily praised in the build-up to the game.

Chelsea will be keen to ensure two games without a win doesn’t become three, and former Blue Sutton has backed them to bounce back against the Tractor Boys.

“I am backing them to bounce back here, though, because they should have too much quality for Ipswich,” he told BBC Sport.

“Fair play to the Tractor Boys, as much as I love giving them a kicking at times, they ran Arsenal close on Friday night. That was typical of Kieran McKenna’s side this season.

“They have given it a real go in the Premier League and they never seem to lie down, whoever they play.

“While I am going for a Chelsea win, the one thing at the back of my mind here is that Ipswich’s determination and will to hang on in there in games has already brought them some reward in away games.

“Eventually it is going to bring them a first home win of the campaign too.

“Sutton’s prediction: 0-2.”

This won’t be an easy task for Chelsea and it’s never easy going to newly promoted sides, but the Blues do possess so much more quality than their opponents, it’s just about whether they can deliver on the day and take their chances.
