The international break has drawn to a close. Several PSG players represented their nation over the past week with varying levels of success. Some will give Luis Enrique a selection headache as they performed well for their country. Competition for places is crucial as the French champions must finish the season strong to provide themselves with the best chance of winning the treble.

They can ill-afford any mistakes in the Champions League and Coupe de France. Here at PSG Post, we discuss the players who are strongly staking their claim for a place in the starting eleven for the most crucial stretch of the season.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Khvicha further enhanced his chances of being a regular starter over the international break. He didn't feature in Georgia's first game against Armenia, but was impactful in the second game of the international break against Armenia. He scored and got an assist as Georgia ran out 6-1 winners in the second leg. Georgia was comfortable over the two legs, defeating their opponents 9-1 on aggregate.

A door has been opened following an injury to Lee Kang In. If he can perform well when called upon by Luis Enrique, then Les Parisiens will have even stiffer competition for places. The Georgian international can also prove why he was a worthy investment in the winter transfer window from Napoli.

Gonçalo Ramos

Ramos is a much-needed option up front as they don't have a natural number nine following the departure of Randal Kolo Muani. Ramos did not feature in the first leg but sealed the win for Portugal at the end of extra-time as Portugal won the second leg 5-2 after extra time. He needed to score for his national team as he had not been getting a look in this season.

The 23-year-old even has stern competition for a starting place at international level as Roberto Martinez has the likes of Joao Felix and Cristiano Ronaldo at his disposal. If Ramos can't start more games for PSG he may request a move in the summer to give himself the best chance of making Portugal's World Cup squad next summer.

Honourable mention - Desire Doue

Desire Doue didn't start the first game against Croatia but came on in the second leg at Stade de France. He couldn't make his case to start for PSG but will feel more confident following the unfortunate injury to Lee-Kang In. Out of all three players, he is the least likely to become a starter for the French champions.
