Aston Villa today confirmed that Tommi O’Reilly had been recalled from his loan spell with Shrewsbury Town. He has been sent immediately back out on loan to MK Dons.
The 21-year-old has been with Villa since 2010 when he joined the Youth academy as a 7-year-old. He has openly stated he is a Villa fan and was amongst the terraces for the Playoff Final win against Derby County at Wembley Stadium in 2019.
O’Reilly spent last season out on loan with Villa’s sister club Real Unión but due to injury, only managed to make 2 appearances in Spain.
The midfielder was sent out to seek first-team football experience with League 1 Shrewsbury in the summer and made his debut in August in a 1-0 defeat to Stevenage. He then made a further 17 appearances in all competitions before being re-called today.
Villa will be hoping he can make more of an impact with MK Dons in League 2 over the second half of the campaign.
