Strikers are often the game-changers, capable of altering a match’s outcome with a single touch. They are usually among the most recognizable names at their clubs. However, like all players, they operate under contracts, and some of the Premier League's top forwards are nearing the end of theirs. Here are five notable strikers whose contracts expire at the end of the season.
Since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2017, Salah has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most lethal finishers. The Egyptian forward has been instrumental in the club’s success, playing a key role in their domestic and European triumphs.
Over nearly eight years, Salah has broken numerous records for both Liverpool and the Premier League. He has scored 243 goals for the club, with 182 of them coming in the league. This season, he leads the Premier League scoring charts with 27 goals, more than any player in Europe’s top five leagues.
Given his impact, it is surprising that no agreement has been reached to extend his stay at Anfield. Speaking to Sky Sports earlier this year about contract negotiations, Salah said, "There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress."
Although Salah is now free to discuss terms with clubs outside England, no serious talks have taken place. While speculation surrounds his future, the Saudi Pro League remains an admirer, eager to lure him away. Liverpool remains confident he will re-sign, but financial terms could be a hurdle for the 32-year-old. There is also the possibility that Salah opts to leave on a high note, especially if he helps Liverpool secure another league title.
