Tottenham enquire about Borussia Dortmund head coach Niko Kovac | OneFootball

Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund have received an enquiry from Tottenham about head coach Niko Kovac, but they are not the only Premier League team interested.

Coaching in the Premier League has always been a dream for Kovac, and clearly the job he has done during his small spell at Dortmund has gained the attention of clubs from England.

Tottenham are said to be keen on the Croatian as current head coach Ange Postecoglou is under increasing pressure due to Spurs’ poor performances. The North London side are said to be impressed by Kovac’s passion, intensity and aggressive style of play.

However, Dortmund are also leaning towards continuing to work with Kovac heading into next season, regardless of whether they qualify for the Champions League or not. On top of this, Dortmund will be competing in the Club World Cup in the summer, which will make it difficult to potentially prise Kovac away from the Westfalenstadion.

Since taking over a Dortmund side who lacked any sort of confidence and at times footballing ability, Kovac has breathed new life into the squad. After a slow start, Dortmund are now four games unbeaten in the Bundesliga and produced a very positive performance against Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.
