Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in signing Dean Huijsen in the summer transfer window.

That is according to TuttoJuve, which has claimed that Bournemouth want £50 million in transfer fees for the former AS Roma loanee.

The report in the Italian news outlet has added that Chelsea and Bayern Munich are following the 19-year-old central defender as well.

Spanish and European giants Real Madrid are also claimed to be interested in a deal for the former Juventus centre-back, who, according to former AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho in January 2024 in TMW, “is one of the highest quality prospects in European football at this age level” and “will be a great footballer in the future”.

It is very unlikely that Tottenham will be able to get a deal done for Huijsen in the summer transfer window.

First of all, if Bournemouth stick to their £50million asking price, then it is hard to see Tottenham cough up that much cash.

While the North London club have spent big money on players in recent transfer windows, it is difficult to envisage Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy splash out £50m on a 19-year-old centre-back who has played just 21 Premier League matches.

Then there is the intense competition for the Spain Under-21 international centre-back, who has also been linked with Newcastle United.

With Chelsea, Bayern and Madrid also keen on Huijsen, one would have to ask why he would choose Tottenham, who do not challenge for the Premier League or even play in the UEFA Champions League on a regular basis.

Bournemouth are seventh in the Premier League table at the moment with 43 points from 27 matches, just four points behind fourth-placed and defending champions Manchester City.

Tottenham are way down in 13th with 33 points from 27 games and will face Bournemouth at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
