Tottenham Hotspur have shown an interest in signing Tyler Dibling from Southampton. However, the Saints obviously value him at over £25m.
There are three things which are inevitable in this lifetime - Death, taxes and top clubs wanting to sign players from Southampton.
It has been the case time and time again in the past, with the Saints forming a reputation for themselves as the "feeder club" for top Premier League clubs.
Let's not forget that while Liverpool have been the main beneficiaries of this trend, Tottenham have had their fair share of Southampton excellence. If you couldn't take the hint, I am speaking about a certain Gareth Bale.
Now, Tottenham are looking to roll back the years by signing another Southampton youngster. However, the deal will not be an easy one to complete.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to show an interest in signing Tyler Dibling from Southampton. Needless to say, they will not be alone in their chase, as many top clubs in Europe are interested in Dibling.
The report suggests that "interest in Dibling, 18, is widespread in the Premier League, with Spurs just one of many admirers." Not that any Southampton fans need reminding but Tyler Dibling is a wanted man.
It is worth noting that while Southampton fans are panicking about Dibling being sold, those fears can be postponed until the summer transfer window. The Saints are unlikely to sell Dibling this January; it was the case before his unfortunate injury blow and it especially remains the case now.
Recently, Southampton received a bid worth around £25m for Tyler Dibling. The bid came in from RB Leipzig but it was swiftly rejected. Therefore, it is clear that the Saints value their star player at above £25m.
Any Tottenham fans reading this might have already clicked off. This is because they know about Daniel Levy's hard bargain better than most. The businessman is very strict in his approach - He won't be dragged into any bidding war, not now and not ever.
For Southampton, they will bide their time and wait until the summer transfer window. The interest in Dibling will still be there come the summer window, so they will still be able to cash in. Of course, their decision might depend on that word that neither of us wants to talk about; relegation.
