Tottenham predicted lineup vs Brentford - Premier League

It's been a campaign of misery, division, and hostility on the Lilywhite half of north London, yet nights like Thursday are capable of sucking you back into the Tottenham cause.

An academy-inspired 3-0 victory over Elfsborg was exactly what Ange Postecoglou needed in the wake of another nadir.

Thursday's feel-good triumph means Spurs will avoid playing two extra games in February and have advanced straight into the Europa League round of 16. Their success in the cup competitions has brought the under-fire manager time, and their biggest game of the season arrives next Thursday with a place in the Carabao Cup final at stake.

However, Tottenham's availability woes and need to pick up Premier League points means Ange has no choice but to go as strong as he can at Brentford on Sunday. Here's the starting lineup he could pick at the Gtech.

GK: Antonin Kinsky - Brandon Austin continues to acquit himself well, but Kinsky, despite a tough couple of outings, will be expected to return to the Premier League XI on Sunday.

RB: Djed Spence - Will Pedro Porro finally get a rest? The Spaniard desperately needs one and the impressive Spence could offer him some respite assuming he's recovered from a knock in time.

CB: Archie Gray - Radu Dragusin is a fresh injury concern after pulling up on Thursday, but Postecoglou can at least turn to Gray to provide cover with Spurs getting ever so slightly healthier in defence,

CB: Micky van de Ven - It was only Elfsborg, but Van de Ven made a notable difference on Thursday and his return is a major boost for the struggling Lilywhites. He might not get 90 minutes under his belt here, but a solid hour ahead of the trip to Anfield.

LB: Ben Davies - If Spence does start at right-back and Gray covers for Dragusin, Davies, who offered energy from left-back in the week, is poised to get the nod again in west London.

CM: Yves Bissouma - Bissouma's injury absence was brief and he played the second half against Elfsborg likely in preparation for the trip across London. He'll be put to the test by Brentford's stellar work in transition.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur - With Bissouma back, Ange could give Bentancur a run out as a number eight. While he's capable at the base of midfield, his best work tends to arrive in a box-to-box role.

CM: Lucas Bergvall - The travelling Swedish contingent got under his skin in the week amid a rather chaotic display which manifested the best and worst of Bergvall. Still, he's stood up in tough times as of late and is likely to continue in Ange's engine room.

RW: Dejan Kulusevski - Postecoglou could retain Mikey Moore down the right and move Kulusevski into midfield, but the Spurs boss is more likely to return the Swede to his starting XI out wide. Perhaps Spence's surges will allow Kulusevski to drift infield.

ST: Richarlison - Dane Scarlett's first Tottenham goal got the ball rolling on Thursday, and the 20-year-old could emerge as a handy option off the bench during the second half of the season having returned from a disappointing Oxford United loan. Richarlison will likely start up top on Sunday, though.

LW: Son Heung-min - Son was as bright as he's looked in months in midweek, and Ange opted to preserve his captain for Sunday by bringing him off at half-time.
