Tottenham welcome a Bournemouth side with ambitions for European qualification to North London this afternoon.
Spurs have work to do on Thursday night after losing 1-0 in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie with AZ Alkmaar.
Dominic Solanke couldn’t continue in midweek after being on the receiving end of a robust kick from an opponent. Ange Postecoglou may choose not to risk the striker, as he will want him to be firing on all cylinders for the second leg against the Dutch outfit.
Postecoglou admitted he chose not to play Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven due to the poor pitch conditions at the AFAS Stadion. The defensive duo could make their first starts of the calendar year against the Cherries. Ben Davies’ inclusion is another possibility with the defender participating in training over the last few days.
Bournemouth were in FA Cup action last weekend as they prevailed in a penalty shootout at home to Wolves.
There are slight concerns about Ryan Christie, who missed the fifth-round tie due to an ongoing groin issue. Illia Zabarnyi is serving the final game of his three-match suspension, which he picked up a fortnight ago. Defenders Marcos Senesi, Adam Smith and Julian Araujo are still unavailable, but their return is imminent.

Spurs recorded their eighteenth defeat of a torrid campaign away to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.
Despite having eight days rest before the encounter, Tottenham looked lethargic in the Netherlands. Lucas Bergvall’s calamitous own goal was the difference on the night.
The second leg is on Thursday with Ange Postecoglou’s side needing to overturn a one-goal deficit to progress into the last eight of the competition.
In the Premier League, the Lilywhites are sat in 13th position. Even a win this afternoon won’t be enough to change the underwhelming situation.

Bournemouth bounced back from two defeats on the spin to progress into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
The game had ended 1-1 before Matt Doherty and Boubacar Traore missed their spot-kicks at the Vitality Stadium.
Andoni Iraola will be hopeful his players can use that dramatic victory as momentum to reignite their European push.
A triumph in the capital could see them rise as high as fifth place if results around them go in their favour.
Bournemouth overtook Tottenham in the Premier League standings after winning 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium.
Dominic Solanke had the first clear-cut opportunity of the contest, but he wasn’t able to hit the target against his former side. Spurs’ record signing was put under pressure by Dean Huijsen and saw his effort fly over the crossbar.
The hosts responded well to the reprieve and hesitant defending from Spurs gave Evanilson a chance. Fraser Forster spread himself smartly to block the shot from close-quarters.
However, from the resulting corner, Huijsen was left unmarked at the back post to nod in his first goal in English football.
Bournemouth’s pressure showed no signs of slowing down and Forster came to Spurs’ rescue by throwing an instinctive glove at Marcus Tavernier’s header.
Andoni Iraola’s side’s dominance continued after the interval and Justin Kluivert’s powerful shot was palmed over by the goalkeeper.
A combination of the upright and VAR prevented the Cherries from doubling the deficit. First, Ryan Christie’s drilled effort clipped the post and minutes later Evanilson had put the ball in the net. The Brazilian’s joy was short-lived as replays showed that he was offside.
Tavernier wasted another opportunity in the latter stages but the miss proved immaterial as Tottenham couldn’t find a late equaliser.
Tottenham: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison; Johnson, Son, Tel.
Bournemouth: Arrizabalaga; Cook, Hill, Huijsen, Kerkez; Scott, Adams; Ouattara, Kluivert, Semenyo; Evanilson.
John Brooks will be the match official. Eddie Smart and Nick Greenhalgh will assist him while Simon Hooper will be the fourth official. The VAR will be Andy Madley and he will be assisted by Craig Taylor.
