Rúben Amorim’s decision to leave Marcus Rashford out of the group for the recent Manchester derby has fueled speculation about the forward’s future at Manchester United.

According to Ben Jacobs of GIVE ME SPORT, Paris Saint-Germain hasn’t made any recent moves for Rashford, but their sporting advisor, Luis Campos, is keeping a close eye on the situation.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has previously been in contact with Rashford’s representatives. However, further discussions are unlikely unless Rashford expresses genuine interest in joining the French club. This measured stance follows Rashford’s decision to sign a five-year contract extension with Manchester United in July 2023.

Jacobs also mentioned that Rashford is open to exploring opportunities in LaLiga, with Barcelona reportedly viewing him as a strong addition to their squad. However, financial constraints make such a move challenging unless Manchester United agrees to a loan deal and covers a substantial portion of his wages.

The Athletic reported on Thursday that while Tottenham could benefit from more attacking options, a move for Rashford seems unlikely. At 27, he doesn’t align with Spurs’ recent focus on signing players under 23 since Ange Postecoglou took charge.

Rashford’s preference for playing on the left wing, where captain Son Heung-min, Timo Werner, and Wilson Odobert already operate, further complicates the fit. His £325,000-a-week wages would also be a significant obstacle.

A more sensible approach might be to bring in a dependable backup for Dominic Solanke, given Richarlison’s struggles with form and fitness, which have left Postecoglou without a reliable option in that role.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Marcus Rashford, according to Football Insider. The report suggests Manchester United, who loaned Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund last January, might consider a similar arrangement for Rashford.

However, a permanent exit for the England international during the January window is described as “highly unlikely.” Barcelona are said to view the loan as an opportunity to help Rashford regain form and potentially increase his market value.

Meanwhile, FootballTransfers claims that the Catalan club has already contacted Manchester United about a January loan deal. They reportedly offered £35 million (€42 million) as part of the proposal, but United has yet to respond.
