The defender is working on his comeback, while Bahoya and Hauge are building up their fitness.

After a day off on Tuesday, there were 23 outfield players plus goalkeepers Kevin Trapp, Kaua Santos, Jens Grahl and Amil Siljevic out on the training pitch on Wednesday as the Eagles continued their preparations for the away trip to FC St. Pauli this weekend. It will be a reunion of sorts for Omar Marmoush, who played for the Hamburg-based club on loan from January to June 2021, and Igor Matanovic, who came through Pauli’s youth ranks and was on their books between 2010 and 2023.

Meanwhile, Tuta took to the pitch again for the first time in three weeks. The defender  had a reduced workload as he continues his recovery from a muscular injury in his calf. Jean-Mattéo Bahoya, who underwent surgery on his nose on Tuesday, and Jens Petter Hauge both worked on building up their fitness, while Aurèle Amenda continued his rehabilitation from a high ankle sprain.
