Gerry Cardinale has been in the firing line in the last week or so, with AC Milan’s ultras Curva Sud repeatedly chanting that he has to sell the club. However, as a report highlights, this isn’t something the American businessman will do.

After the 0-0 draw against Genoa last weekend, the Curva Sud displayed a banner with great criticism for the ownership outside San Siro. They also chanted ‘Cardinale, you have to sell, go away’, and this continued during the private party on Monday as well as yesterday’s game.

As reported by Tuttosport this morning, via MilanNews, the refinancing of the loan between RedBird and Elliott – announced yesterday evening – means Cardinale won’t sell the club early. That being said, new investors are very likely.

It’s not exactly a secret that Cardinale has been probing investors in Asia and the Middle East, as also proved by the documents that Milan’s Prosecutor’s Office confiscated earlier this year. An investigation, we should clarify, didn’t lead to anything as there was no wrongdoing.

Milan fans are watching on with great interest and it remains to be seen what will happen, starting with the January window. It would be a quick way for Cardinale to calm the fans, reinforcing the squad as needed.
