Tijjani Reijnders is arguably AC Milan’s most important player at present with some key players injured, and the club hope he will remain that way.
Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) has the following headline this morning: ‘Reijnders is the new leader. For the present and for the future’. The Dutchman has already scrored eight goals, and is certainly one of the most positive notes of the first part of the season for Milan.
The Rossoneri midfielder is valuable in every area of the pitch and has also become prolific in front of goal, so much so that to date he is the top scorer across all competitions, together with Christian Pulisic.
Reijnders has become an essential cornerstone of Milan and for this reason the directors have been working for weeks to secure him with a new contract until 2029. An agreement between the parties seems to have already been reached in recent days, now all that is missing is the signature.
Then, it will be time for the official announcement which will hopefully ward off the interest from some top clubs. Of course, Reijnders will be given a substantial pay rise (there is talk of more than double his current earnings) as a reward for his new status.
