Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is expected to afford a first starting berth of the campaign to not one, but two members of his squad later this evening.
Barcelona, of course, are primed to return to action in short order.
In the club’s first outing of the new year, the Blaugrana will make the trip to the Estadio Municipal, for a Copa del Rey Last-32 meeting with 2nd tier Barbastro.
In the days leading up to the clash, much of the chatter in Catalunya’s capital has surrounded the selection plans of Hansi Flick, tipped to shake up his XI on Saturday.
And, if the latest update on the situation to have surfaced this afternoon is anything to go by, then precisely as much appears to be on the cards.
As per a report from Barca insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, both Wojciech Szczęsny and Ronald Araújo are in line for their first starts of the season against Barbastro.
Elsewhere, the likes of Eric García, Frenkie de Jong and Ansu Fati are all expected to feature from the off, too.
