Unsettled €50m-rated Barcelona star emerges as key target for three European giants – Report | OneFootball

There are only a few matches left till the 2024-25 season ends and FC Barcelona, like most other European clubs, are already planning their moves for the upcoming summer transfer window.

While several new players are being linked with them, the Catalans are also expected to make some sales, as their FFP problems mean they would not be able to incorporate many new players without generating a significant amount of income.

On the other hand, the Blaugranes also want to retain most of their important players going forward after having such a successful season.

Ronald Araujo generating significant interest in the market

In such a context, one Barcelona player who could be the subject of a big sale this summer is the defender Ronald Araujo, as Fichajes reports that three big European clubs, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Chelsea, are interested in him and have made him a priority target for next summer.

The €50 million-rated Uruguayan centre-back recently renewed his contract with the Blaugrana club, which goes till 2031. However, this new contract also reportedly includes a clause that will reduce his release clause to a very affordable sum, €65 million, for the first 15 days of July.

Araujo has seen his status in the Catalan team deteriorate significantly this season, as he has lost his starting position and has started only 14 games in total. As a result, his situation in the Blaugrana team is quite unsettled.

As already reported, Bayern Munich are looking to part ways with one of their current defenders, Kim Min-Jae, and are looking at Araujo as one of the candidates to replace the Korean. Meanwhile, Juventus and Chelsea are also looking for big changes in their defence and have set their sights on the Barcelona captain.

Thus, despite being a captain and one of the leaders of this dressing room, it would not really be a shock to see Ronald Araujo leave the Catalan side, and maybe join one of these three sides in the coming summer transfer window.
