The US Men's National Team will be without starting forward Tim Weah in its Copa America 2024 Group C finale against Uruguay through suspension.
Weah was sent off against Panama after receiving a straight red card for off the ball contact. The incident first resulted in the Juventus player getting a yellow card from referee Ivan Barton, but after VAR suggested Barton go look at the incident the yellow card was rescinded and a red was given. Despite going down to 10 men, USA scored the first goal of the game through a wonderful left-footed strike from Folarin Balogun.
Unfortunately for the Stars and Stripes, Panama equalized just four minutes later and took the lead late in the second half. It also wasn't the only red card of the game with Adalberto Carrasquilla getting sent off for a challenge on Christian Pulisic. USA couldn't equalize though and dropped crucial points toward qualifying for the quarter-finals. To make matters even worse, USA lost their starting goalkeeper, Matt Turner, through injury for the rest of the game after a nasty collision when coming to claim a cross. Ethan Horvath played the entirety of the second half.
Head coach Gregg Berhalter will hope his number one keeper can come back into the side next game. Otherwise, USA's Copa America journey could come to an end.

Clint Dempsey, Alexi Lalas and Carli Lloyd shared their disappointment and shock on the Fox desk right after the game concluded.
Now, with eyes toward Uruguay, the road to qualifying considering USA is without its starting RW is even harder. USA holds the advantage over Panama after the game thanks to goal differential, but that won't come into play if USA can't get a result against Uruguay.
Uruguay plays Bolivia tonight and can secure a quarter-final spot with a win. Group C will conclude on July 1 with all four teams in action for their final games.
