As reported to by Marca, Valencia are looking to offload Maxi Gómez in order to sign Edinson Cavani.
Los Che are close to arriving at a deal that could see Cavani join the club for the upcoming season. However, they would need to offload Gómez prior in order to meet La Liga regulations.
Fenerbahçe have shown interest in signing the 26-year-old. Fully aware of Valencia’s situation, they submitted a bid of €8m to secure the services of the forward, which is €4m shy of what the Spanish side are looking for.
It is believed that Gómez would be interested in moving to the Premier League, which would benefit him financially and his career progression.
The Uruguayan arrived to Valencia from Celta Vigo in 2019. However, he failed to meet expectations and he only managed to score 23 goals in 108 appearances in all competitions over the course of three years.
