Chelsea have the lead at Selhurst Park!

The Blues have made a really bright, energetic start to this game, and they have their reward after 15 minutes.

After 3 very poor games in attack, the Blues needed to offer more today, and all four of their most advanced players have started well today. The goal came down the left hand side, with Jadon Sancho pulling off a magnificent dummy on the halfway line to get in behind the Palace defence.

He raced into the box while Cole Palmer fashioned himself some space in the middle. Sancho’s little outside of the boot flick to his teammate took a little touch off a defender, which forced Palmer to take a touch and adjust his feet, but the England star made no mistake once he was set, rolling the ball across goal into the side netting on the far side with his usual insouciance.

Jadon Sancho drops a halfway line dummy.

This should force Palace to attack more, and set Chelsea up to score more. As we found out against Fulham in our recent defeat, a 1-0 lead can easily be turned around, and we simply must find a second here.

Pedro Neto should get plenty of space down the right hand side, with Malo Gusto on hand to overlap. With threats down both side we should be generating tons of good chances for Nicolas Jackson, especially on the break. If Palace come forward, we’ve got a dream lineup waiting to catch them out.

There’s plenty more to come in this game, but we’d like to see Enzo Fernandez shine. His early December form has faded a little, but this game should be nice and open, with plenty of chances for him to spray long passes forward and launch counter attacks.
