Chelsea got a great result against Everton on Sunday, controlling the game against David Moyes’ team and getting the goal they needed to earn 3 points.

It wasn’t easy, and they needed Robert Sanchez to make some great late saves to seal the deal, but it was a job well done.

When you see the training they were getting into before the game, it’s no wonder they finally started a game well. Training footage from the session shows a really intense mood from Cobham. With no midweek game to worry about, they could all really get stuck in.

There looked to be a mini 9 a side tournament – Blue bibs, white bibs and no bibs competed for the prize. Footballers are naturally competitive, and that was on full display even in this kick around at the training ground.

Noni Madueke celebrates hard when Blue bibs score, but that’s nothing compared to the reaction when Nicolas Jackson scored what appeared to be the winner for the no bibs – just 48 hours later he would score a very similar goal to win the game against Everton.

Nicolas Jackson may be finally finding his form again

Nicolas Jackson dances through defenders to score a tournament winner in training.

As Jackson said in his interview after the game on Saturday, he’s only just getting back to his level physically after two months out. For someone who relies heavily on his physicality, it was always going to take a while for him to get back to his best.

Hopefully these clues from training, as well as the goal he scored against the Toffees at the weekend, show he’s almost there. If we want to finish in the Champions League places, we’ll need more than just training goals from the Senegal star.
