Marca reports that Villarreal are trying to negotiate a deal with Watford that would see Kiko Femenía move to The Yellow Submarine.
The Spanish right-back (31) has been playing at Vicarage Road for the past five years and has accumulated over 100 appearances in the Premier League.
Villarreal will not only guarantee Femenía top-flight football for the upcoming season, but also the possibility to play in Europe.
The agreement could involve a swap deal, which could result in Mario Gaspar being transferred to The Hornets.
With the departure of Serge Aurier following the expiration of his contract, the Castellón-based side will be looking to fill the vacancy left at right-back by the Ivory Coast international.
Villarreal have been very active in trying to strengthen their side for the upcoming season. This week it was reported that they have extended the contract of Étienne Capoue and have a verbal agreement in place to sign Edinson Cavani.
