Villarreal star Baena leading Barcelona as La Liga’s top chance creator | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at Villarreal is remarkably leading all of La Liga when it comes to chance creation this season.

The player in question? Álex Baena.

Wide-man Baena is for his part in the midst of another fine individual campaign to date.

Now widely considered one of the standout attacking talents in Spanish football, the 23-year-old has racked up 25 La Liga appearances, across which he has notched six goals, and seven assists.

In fact, as alluded to above, Baena has carved out more goalscoring chances than any other player in the top-flight of Spanish football this term.

As per StatMuse, the eight-time capped La Roja international has laid on 79 opportunities for his Villarreal teammates.

This is more than 2nd-placed Raphinha, as well as Barcelona teammate Lamine Yamal, who currently leads La Liga in assists in 2024/25, with 11 to his name.
