Dusan Vlahovic understands Juventus fans’ frustration and is eager to ‘stick together’ to support the team.
A minority of Juventus supporters insulted the Serbian striker on Saturday after a home 2-2 draw against strugglers Venezia. His angry reaction infuriated the Curva Sud, who insulted him after the final whistle.
Vlahovic has now published an Instagram story to try to calm the waters.
“I understand the frustration for the latest results, and you have all the rights to express it,” the striker wrote.
“I’ve always respected you by giving my all for the shirt, and I thank you for the support you support us daily. Now it’s important to stick together to support the team and start again, united.”
Vlahovic is Juventus’ best scorer this season with 11 goals in 19 appearances.
He converted a late penalty kick last night, allowing Juventus to remain unbeaten in Serie A.
Nevertheless, the Bianconeri are nine points below table leaders Atalanta with ten draws and just six victories.
Juventus coach Thiago Motta said last night that fans are free to express their feelings but insisted they should be respectful.
Juventus return to action on Tuesday at the Allianz Stadium in a Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie against Cagliari.
Their next home game is against Monza at the U-Power Stadium.
