Werder Bremen to sign Issa Kaboré on loan from Manchester City | OneFootball

Fabrizio Romano reports that Werder Bremen are on the verge of signing Manchester City right wing-back Issa Kaboré on loan for the rest of the season.

Kaboré’s loan at Benfica was cut short earlier this week as he was not getting enough playing time in the Portuguese capital. In his six months at Benfica, he only played seven times in all competitions, with most of these appearances also being cameos off of the bench.

Kaboré has also had loan spells at Luton Town, Marseille, Troyes and Mechelen. The right-wing back has yet to make an appearance for his parent club since joining in 2020.

The 23-year-old will battle it out with Mitchell Weiser for the right wing-back position in Ole Werner’s side.

Bremen are one of the surprises of the first half of the season as they currently sit seventh in the Bundesliga and are only two points off of the top four.
