West Ham are unbeaten in eight meetings with Bournemouth, winning three of their last four encounters in East London, including a 1-0 EFL Cup victory back in August.
Can Bournemouth get their European push back on track? On Wednesday night, the Cherries were beaten again, this time on the wrong end of a shock 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Ipswich; Evanilson's goal coming too late to spark a comeback. Andoni Iraola's side had put together an 11 match unbeaten streak, but are now winless in five, yielding just a solitary point from these outings.
As a result, Bournemouth have sunk down to tenth, three points adrift the final potential European spot. After also seeing their FA Cup dreams go up in flames last Sunday, ousted by Manchester City, a season that promised so much is in danger of concluding underwhelmingly.
West Ham United meantime have very little to play for, with their pretty lifeless 1-0 defeat at Wolves on Tuesday a clear indication of their lack of motivation. Since Graham Potter's appointment in January, the Hammers have won only three of ten Premier League outings, so continue to languish down in 16th place, having finished in the top half in three of the last four campaigns. The Irons do boast an excellent record against Bournemouth, but might just kick off as underdogs, despite being at home on Saturday.
Graham Potter, surprisingly, handed Luis Guilherme his full-Premier League debut at Molineux, albeit the young Brazilian was hooked at half time. As part of a triple change at the interval on Tuesday, Niclas Füllkrug was introduced, his first appearance since suffering a hamstring tear 15 minutes into Potter's first match in charge all the way back on 10 January.
Fellow-striker Evan Ferguson started in West Ham colours for the first time in mid-week, due to the fact Mohammed Kudus missed the trip to the Midlands due to injury. Defender Jean-Clair Todibo didn't travel either, making both doubts once again.
Ahead of this one, Emerson and Tomáš Souček will be hoping to return to the lineup; Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio remain sidelined long-term.
West Ham United predicted lineup vs Bournemouth: (5-2-2-1): Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Kilman, Mavropanos, Cresswell, Scarles; Souček, Ward-Prowse, Paquetá; Bowen, Ferguson.
Jarrod Bowen was the only scorer when Bournemouth visited the London Stadium in August, one of his eight goals this season, so can he add to his three career goals against the Cherries?
Justin Kluivert sat out the mid-week defeat due to a knock, and is a doubt for this one too, while Marcus Tavernier, Luis Sinisterra and Enes Ünal are sidelined long-term. Ryan Christie suffered a groin injury against Ipswich, so is sidelined, meaning Tyler Adams will return at the base of midfield. Antoine Semenyo is one yellow card away from a two-match suspension.
Bournemouth predicted lineup vs West Ham United: (4-2-3-1): Arrizabalaga; Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Adams, Cook, Brooks, Ouattara, Semenyo; Evanilson.
Evanilson has scored four goals in his last five appearances so, despite the fact the Cherries' form has detrioirated of late, the Brazilian will be seeking to continue his own scoring spree.
We find this clash too tough to call, so we're firmly sitting on the fence and forecasting a draw that won't particularly satisfy either set of supporters: West Ham United 1-1 Bournemouth.
West Ham United vs Bournemouth takes place on Saturday 5 April 2025, with kick off at 15:00 (GMT), 10:00 (EDT) & 7:00 (PDT).
